We held a most successful showing of some of our pictures that we had done in the past few months at
the U3A meeting in July.
Some were so good that enquiries were made ‘were they for sale’? Success indeed! It was also nice to
see that the members are now so confident in their hobby that they are prepared to frame pictures.
Members also gathered at the Poplar Farm Inn for an informal lunch, the first time that we have ever done
this, as a tribute and thank you to David Smith, for having run this group for some eight years. Also not
forgetting Veronica who helps us and opens her garden in Monxton twice a year for us to paint in.
By the time this newsletter is published we may have held our next meeting on 9th September at which
David Smith will demonstrate Pastel. This will then to be our Autumn theme until Christmas time. Cost 50p.
